DSM: Let's hear it for the cooks!

I was recently reminded of the discussion on 60 Minutes regarding
further education and cooking school. It amazes me that our culture has
relegated cooking to some kind of third rate occupation.

Just to think of one off the wall advantage to cooking school over law
school; when I was living in Australia the number one occupation that
could get you immediate permanent residency was that of a pastry chef.
Tough luck on any doctors and lawyers that may want to immigrate.

I learned latin grammer and trigonometry in school. Don't ask me why.
Thank goodness I also found time to learn how to cook.

Eating is one of life's greatest pleasures. If you don't know how to
cook you had better have lots of money so that you can pay others to do
it for you. If you can cook, you and your family can enjoy some of the
best of life without such a huge income.

Of course you still have to pay your Sudbury tuitions.
