Dear Folks,

Sudbury Parent II
--------------------------

It is the same, the very self same
For if Sudbury is a reverence for boundaries
Then one of the big boundaries is down at the gravel parking lot
Where all of the letting go takes place, the giving up
Where the parent and the child arrive and the child goes on alone
And where if I look west I see
33 years and a tree and 10 acres and a pond and a barn
and a mansion
and the grace and the art of doing nothing
and I see beauty
But it is the very self same beauty
That I see if I look east
At all of the decisions and struggles
Of that bag of bones mother in a housecoat
Driving off by herself
Alone
The very self same beauty
Though, it is only now that I see it through tears.

Deep Regard,
Bill Richardson
