Of course, you already know the answer, since you have lived it. The
Highland School, a democratic, non-coercive school in West Virginia that is
in its 19th year, has had boarding students on and off throughout its
history, as well. There is nothing about boarding per se that makes it
antithetical to the democratic schooling model.
