Dear Sam --

I think a lot of kids who come to SVS when they are in their teens come
with a lot of anger. They don't trust school anymore and so they have to
test SVS to see whether it really is as different as it says it is. Some
kids make it through the testing phase and stay at SVS but there are
probably some kids whose anger is so great that they end up leaving in the
first year. And some kids, like yourself, come to SVS and settle right
in. I think how each kid adjusts to SVS depends on the kid's temperament
and their experiences (both at home and at school) prior to coming to SVS.
