youth & adult education

Are the members of this list familiar with Miles Horton's Highlander Folk Schools (started in Tennessee years ago)?

Are there schools like Sudbury that also include adult education/social action programs, resembling Highlander's?

Just curious, as I've been studying adult education and wondering if there are ways to combine youth & adult education that empower people through principles of freedom such as are evident in both the Sudbury and Highlander models. Yet, both of these models seem to focus on either youth or adults, not both. Could we (or have any of you) create educational programs that build on both the creative powers of adults and youth?

Would welcome comments on this topic!
